He completed his BS in Zoology at Texas Tech University and then attended UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. Dr. Mike White moved to Cleburne after completing his residency and serving in the US Army in Huntsville, Alabama. He has been a family physician with Family Medicine Associates since1980.
Dr. White and his wife, Kay, have three adult children, Amy, Abbi, and Jacob. They also have 4 grandchildren. They have been active members of First Baptist Church where Dr. White serves as a deacon and takes an active role in missions both locally and many foreign countries. He has traveled with Manna Worldwide to several countries supporting children’s feeding centers by donating healthcare to children and their families. He has also participated with First Baptist Mt. Pleasant, traveling to Guatemala with a medical team of approximately 75 healthcare givers every summer for the past 7 years. He feels a very strong call from God to share his medical expertise with those in need both locally and across the globe. Consequently, he is committed to serving those in Johnson county through the Hope Clinic
Dr. Tony Torres, who serves as pastor of Cleburne Seventh Day Adventist Church, stood outside the church on Tuesday morning gazing toward an empty spot of land near the parking lot. "Lord willing, we will have a church school over there one day, kindergarten thru eighth grade" Torres said. "That will free up that whole wing of the church building to expand the clinic. We can have room for ophthalmology and other specialties."
